I’m a senior pursuing dual degrees in biochemistry/molecular biology and psychology (on a neuroscience track). I am very interested in becoming a physician-scientist to develop targeted and preventative therapies for complex diseases with a partial epigenetic etiology, like neuropsychiatric diseases and cancers. I spend a lot of time researching epigenetics and gene-environment interactions in the Suvorov Lab and working as an EMT on-campus. I am a big fan of science outreach, and I got involved with the iCons podcast in order to help bridge the gap between people in the sciences and people in other key areas of society, with the hopes that this initiative can do a little more to foster stronger connections between science and society in general. So far, I have learned that podcasting is hard work, but it is an incredibly enjoyable process made even better by being able to work with such fantastic teammates. This year, I hope to learn more about how to make the podcast into an organization that is sustainable long after we all graduate, and how to become a better team player and facilitate positive growth for the whole team.
